Standing Firm When the Enemy Strikes: Pressing on with Purpose, Trusting God’s Call, and Embracing the Power of Perseverance
If you’ve been following our journey, you know that life has been throwing a lot at us lately. Sometimes it feels like if something could go wrong, it has! I joke that Lifetime might just come knocking soon to turn this story into a movie. But through every twist and challenge, my husband and I are holding fast to our faith and clinging to prayer as we weather this storm.
We truly believe that when God is doing big things, the enemy fights back harder. Scripture shows us that opposition often comes right before a breakthrough. Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” The resistance we’re feeling isn’t just a coincidence—it’s a clear sign that God is working in powerful ways, and it makes the enemy uneasy.
We’re deeply grateful our community who cares so much and want to see us well, especially as we walk through this tough season. Some have suggested that we consider stepping back, slowing down, or taking on a little less, and we know these suggestions come from a place of love and concern. However, I would humbly ask that before offering guidance, we all take time to pray and seek wisdom through Scripture.
God has called each of us with purpose, and He has placed a specific call and anointing on our lives in this season. We feel that call strongly, and while it may look like the path is uphill, we’re convinced that stepping back would be letting the enemy win. When we lean into the Lord and seek His purpose, He strengthens us to persevere. As James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”
If you’re unfamiliar with the fullness of our calling, we invite you to come alongside us. Ask us about the journey God has set us on, and join us in lifting up that call in prayer. Let’s stand together, supporting each other, praying for one another, and growing in faith as we all move forward in God’s purpose.
In this season, we’re choosing to pray with expectation, grounded in God’s promises rather than the trials we face. We know that in every battle, He is with us and has already declared victory over each obstacle. As Romans 8:31 reminds us, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
So we’re pressing on, trusting that God has us exactly where He wants us. We may not yet know all He has planned, but we believe that His glory will shine even brighter through the storm. And we invite you to walk this journey with us, standing together in faith and expectancy, ready to see all He will do.
